Job Title: Marine Engineer Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineer to join our team at Boskalis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard our 24M Multicat workboat.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all propulsion, auxiliary and deck machinery, electrical appliances, air conditioning, domestic installations, fittings and structures, RIB and deck crane.
  • Consult with the Master to achieve maximum economy consistent with minimum efficiency required.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Oil and Environmental Pollution Prevention Legislation.
  • Be familiar with vessel's construction, machinery and operating characteristics.
  • Keep accurate records of labour, bunkers, lubricating oils and water consumed.
  • Ensure all Planned Maintenance and repair work is carried out with minimum disruption to the vessel's programme.
  • Adhere to Company Rules and Procedures relating to the department.
  • Make regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces.
  • Be responsible for the bunkering of the vessel and ensuring quantity and quality is as ordered.
  • Arrange all transfers of fuel/lubricant oil/ballast/fresh water and check plans with the Master prior to actioning.
  • Prepare spare gear orders and ensure spares are adequate.
  • Keep all engine room records as required by the Company.
  • Return Company Reports and Forms to the Base Office in a timely manner.
  • Deal with the administration and upkeep of Classification Society Survey requirements of both hull and machinery.
  • Responsible for the security of all watertight compartments.
  • Give/receive an appropriate and detailed handover when joining/leaving a Company vessel.
  • Carry-out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Master or the Company.
