About the Marine Engineer Position


Boskalis Westminster is seeking a skilled Marine Engineer to join their team. As a Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard the 24M Multicat workboat.


Main Responsibilities:



  • Ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all propulsion, auxiliary, and deck machinery, electrical appliances, air conditioning, domestic installations, fittings, and structures, RIB, and deck crane.
  • Consult with the Master to achieve maximum economy while maintaining minimum efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Oil and Environmental Pollution Prevention Legislation and train responsible crew on Emergency Procedures and Contingency Plans.
  • Be familiar with vessel construction, machinery, and operating characteristics and take overall responsibility for vessel configuration and systems.
  • Keep accurate records of labour, bunkers, lubricating oils, and water consumption.
  • Ensure planned maintenance and repair work is carried out with minimal disruption to the vessel's programme.
  • Adhere to Company Rules and Procedures, especially safety protocols.
  • Make regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces.
  • Be responsible for bunkering and arranging fuel transfers, checking plans with the Master prior to actioning.
  • Prepare spare gear orders and inventory lists and ensure spares are adequate.
  • Keep engine room records and return Company Reports and Forms in a timely manner.
  • Deal with Classification Society Survey requirements and maintain security of watertight compartments.
  • Give/receive an appropriate handover when joining/leaving a Company vessel.
