MEP Lead Role Overview

AA Euro Group is collaborating with a leading Main Contractor to deliver a new Data Centre Project in Wales, and we are seeking an experienced MEP Lead to oversee the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management:

    • Coordinate MEP design, installation, and commissioning for the Data Centre.

    • Manage MEP subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and client requirements.

    • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of MEP works.
  2. Technical Oversight:

    • Review and verify technical submissions, drawings, and specifications for compliance with project requirements.

    • Coordinate with the design team to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with architectural and structural elements.

    • Identify and resolve technical challenges and construction issues related to MEP systems.
  3. Quality and Safety:

    • Ensure all MEP works are completed to the highest quality standards and in line with health and safety regulations.

    • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective measures.
  4. Client Liaison:

    • Act as the main point of contact for the client regarding all MEP aspects of the project.

    • Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
  5. Budget and Cost Control:

    • Monitor MEP-related costs, ensuring adherence to the project budget.

    • Support procurement activities for MEP packages and equipment, ensuring best value for the project.
  6. Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor a team of MEP engineers and supervisors on-site.

    • Foster a collaborative and solution-driven environment across all project stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in MEP roles, ideally with significant experience on data centre or mission-critical projects.

• Proven experience working with a main contractor on large-scale construction projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IET, IMECHE) is desirable.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate between different trades.

• Excellent technical knowledge of MEP systems, particularly in data centre environments.

• Experience working with BIM and coordinating complex MEP installations.

• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).

• Knowledge of the latest safety regulations and best practices in MEP construction.
