Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Auditor to join our Internal Audit team as a Principal Auditor. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a diverse range of audit assignments, providing assurance on risk, governance, and control systems to Sefton Council.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and deliver audit assignments, ensuring high-quality results and timely completion
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior management and council members
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the council's assets are protected and its operations are efficient
  • Contribute to the development of audit plans, policies, and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in Internal Audit, with a proven track record of managing varied audits
  • Relevant professional qualification(s), such as CIMA or ACCA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks
  • Self-motivated, driven, and hardworking, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results
