Job Title: Head of School - Academic Leader

Faculty Executive Team Member for the School of Engineering and Built Environment

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly experienced Academic Leader to join our Faculty Executive Team as the Head of School for the School of Engineering and Built Environment. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in engineering, architecture, or a relevant discipline, with a proven track record of leading Engineering and Built Environment disciplines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the school's ambitions plans for refreshing its course portfolio, focusing on significant growth in student numbers, particularly in Engineering disciplines.
  • Forge new partnerships with external organisations and employers to enhance the school's reputation and opportunities.
  • Improve B3/TEF outcomes through strategic leadership and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Academic standing in engineering, architecture, or a relevant discipline.
  • Previous experience of leading Engineering and Built Environment disciplines.
  • Proven track record of developing market-informed courses with strong student outcomes.
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of TEF and REF.
  • Leadership and management experience in a similar level role, with a proven ability to develop productive relationships and encourage collaboration.
