About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Domestic Services Team at Darlington Memorial Hospital as a Domestic Services Assistant. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out cleaning and other related duties following set procedures and standards to maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout the environment.
  • Work as part of a team and use initiative to prioritise and organise daily duties, maintaining a professional approach at all times.
  • Ensure effective communication channels are maintained between staff, visitors, and patient groups regarding departmental cleaning and hygiene.
  • Be flexible to meet the needs of the service, ensuring continuity of service while adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Work unsupervised, be caring, flexible, and reliable, and maintain good levels of personal hygiene.

Person Specification

  • Essential: Secondary education and basic understanding of Health & Safety issues and COSHH.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in a similar role, NVQ 2 in Support Services or Customer Care, or willingness to work towards.
