Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Cardiac Day Unit at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

The unit is expanding, and this is an excellent time to be part of the development of our 6-bedded Cardiac Day Unit, which features a new radial lounge and two Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories.

As a Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse, you will work collaboratively with cardiologists and provide high-quality care to both NHS and private patients undergoing procedures such as transoesophageal echo and cardioversions.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will work under indirect supervision of the nurse team leader and undertake tasks and duties delegated by the nurse team leaders or a suitably qualified regulated professional.

They will work collaboratively with the cardiology team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures.

Person Specification

Education, Qualifications & Training

Essential Criteria

  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (Level 1)
  • ENB 998 or equivalent

Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience at Band 5

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of teaching students, HCA's, and qualified staff
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, relatives, and the multi-disciplinary team in English
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
  • Competency in IV drug administration
  • Knowledge of the role of a Band 5 Staff Nurse
  • Knowledge of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act

  • Computer skills
  • Ability to work all shifts, including night duty

  • Good time management skills
