About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Hull. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving the development of a proactive Health & Safety culture across our warehouse and logistics operations, and expanding it to other divisions.

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with diverse stakeholders to continuously improve and maintain high standards in Health & Safety compliance and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the organization complies with all Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective Health & Safety policies and procedures, including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Provide practical training and education to employees, coordinating with external providers where necessary.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards and driving corrective action.
  • Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and implement preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with managers to integrate safety processes into everyday operations.
  • Develop and monitor Health & Safety performance metrics and present findings to senior stakeholders, including board-level reporting.
  • Support accreditation processes such as ISO, ensuring compliance and assisting with audits.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and legislation to maintain best practices.
About You

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
  • Demonstrable experience in a Health & Safety role within the logistics, warehousing, ports/shipping, manufacturing or transport sectors.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Familiarity with ISO accreditation processes and managing audits.
