About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operative to join our team at SUEZ, a pioneering green business dedicated to improving the environment.

As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for carrying out duties individually or as part of a team to control, transfer, and stockpile waste and recyclables at our busy material transfer station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating mobile equipment, including cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
  • Managing traffic, such as guiding tipping vehicles.
  • Operating the weighbridge and accurately recording the weight and other specified details of vehicles both entering and leaving the site.
  • Co-operating directly with customers and members of the public, providing excellent customer service.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role, including undertaking first aider/fire safety duties on site.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who will be expected to obtain a working knowledge of the site licence/permit system and work to ensure site operations meet the standards required.

You'll need a flexible approach, working in a challenging environment, and be expected to provide cover for annual leave and on occasion to help cover weekends.

Key requirements include:

  • Operational experience and current licences for loading shovel, 360 tele-handler, and forklift.
  • Prior waste/recycling or similar process environment highly advantageous.
  • Excellent understanding and approach to health & safety.
  • Good IT skills.
