Process and Construction Safety Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Process and Construction Safety Manager to join our team at SUEZ. As a key member of our Process and Construction Safety Team, you will be responsible for managing and implementing a broad range of machinery and process safety initiatives, as well as monitoring and advising on various construction-related projects in the UK South West region.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Technical Manager – Process Safety, you will be responsible for managing and implementing a broad range of machinery and process safety initiatives.
- Assist in designing and assessing safe improvement modifications to facilities in a controlled and structured manner to safely operate and maintain assets within their in-built design capability (Management of Change).
- Guide and support Senior Management as well as Technical Team in all matters of legislation relating to process and construction safety.
- Participate in meetings of a technical and operational nature.
- Support Continuous Improvement initiative by providing technical, engineering support on process safety.
- Deliver process safety improvement by using process analysis techniques and specification of equipment to ensure the selected solution is safe.
- Participate and facilitate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies.
- Manage and maintain the Process Safety management system and elements within it.
- Maintenance and development of the SUEZ Essential Safety Requirements documents.
- Conduct and review DSEAR Assessments.
- Assisting in High Potential (HiPo) and process safety incident investigations.
- Analysing and reporting of HiPo incidents.
Requirements
- A process or chemical related engineering background is essential.
- Ideally you will hold a relevant engineering degree - HND Qualification may also be acceptable.
- You will ideally hold a recognised H&S qualification and, experience in the construction sector.
- Someone who can manage multiple projects successfully, work autonomously and above all, someone with a positive attitude and sound judgment who will inspire confidence in others.
