Process and Construction Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Process and Construction Safety Manager to join our team in the UK South West region. As a key member of our Process and Construction Safety Team, you will be responsible for managing and implementing machinery and process safety initiatives, monitoring and advising on construction-related projects, and providing technical support to senior management and the technical team.
Key Responsibilities- Design and assess safe improvement modifications to facilities in a controlled and structured manner to safely operate and maintain assets within their in-built design capability (Management of Change)
- Guide and support senior management and the technical team in all matters of legislation relating to process and construction safety
- Participate in technical and operational meetings
- Support Continuous Improvement initiatives by providing technical and engineering support on process safety
- Deliver process safety improvements by using process analysis techniques and specifying equipment to ensure the selected solution is safe
- Participate in and facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies
- Manage and maintain the Process Safety management system and elements within it
- Facilitate and lead on all aspects of safety-related plant design and commissioning, from initial design review to CE and PUWER
- Maintain and develop the SUEZ Essential Safety Requirements documents
- Conduct and review DSEAR Assessments
- Support with CDM regulations compliance across the business, including conducting CDM inspections, assessments, liaising on contractor approvals, and reviewing the H&S file
- Assist in High Potential (HiPo) and process safety incident investigations
- Analyse and report on HiPo incidents
- A process or chemical-related engineering background is essential
- A relevant engineering degree or HND qualification may also be acceptable
- A recognised H&S qualification and experience in the construction sector are ideal
- Outstanding communication skills and sound project management abilities are required
- The ability to manage multiple projects successfully, work autonomously, and inspire confidence in others is essential
