About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Leader to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a Deputy Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in providing clinical leadership and supporting the nursing team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong clinical leadership and inspire the nursing team to achieve their best.
  • Co-ordinate the day-to-day running of the ward to ensure safe and effective care.
  • Deputise for the Sister/Charge Nurse in their absence and manage the ward accordingly.
  • Assess, plan, and implement care, providing specialist advice and maintaining accurate records.
  • Lead and coordinate the clinical, managerial, and educational requirements of the clinical area.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of managing a ward, including management of rotas, managing competencies, resources, and staff.
  • Experience of teaching, assessing, and supervising others in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to organise and plan own time and that of junior staff and learners.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
  • Good communication skills and ability to deal with sensitive information.

Qualifications and Education

  • BSC/1st degree (health-related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience.
  • Post-registration qualification in or can demonstrate relevant experience and competence (appropriate area of speciality).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in relevant area of speciality.
  • RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
