Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse Leader to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and ensuring the provision of high-quality nursing care to children and families.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in paediatric nursing and be able to demonstrate a commitment to family-centred care. You will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to work well in a team environment.

Main Duties of the Job

  • To provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the provision of high-quality nursing care to children and families.
  • To act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner.
  • To assist in the safe, effective, and efficient management of the department within allocated resources.
  • To promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice.
  • To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Ward Manager.

Person Specification

  • NMC Registered Nurse (appropriate to clinical speciality)
  • Relevant nursing qualification
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development relating to clinical speciality

  • Assessor or practice supervisor qualification/experience

  • Ability to plan and prioritise care for patients

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
