About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Mansell Recruitment Group. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in the research and development of our company products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to the design and development of bespoke fixtures for internal use and sale to customers.
  2. Collaborate with the testing team and customers to define and capture design specifications and requirements.
  3. Design and develop high-accuracy test equipment by identifying design improvements and developing future generations of the product.
  4. Generate 2D CAD detail and assembly drawings and associated Bills of Materials (BOMs) for in-house and external manufacturing.
  5. Conduct testing and validation of designs for functionality and ease of manufacturing (DFM).
  6. Prototype and build designs in our workshop using 3D printers, Haas CNC mill, and other machine tools.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in a related science or engineering field, with experience in mechanical design.
  2. 2+ years of experience in design engineering.
  3. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
  4. Knowledge of rapid prototyping and manufacturing processes (3D printing, CNC machining, etc.).
  5. Solid understanding of design and engineering principles (mechanics, stress analysis, heat transfer, etc.).
  6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and independently within a cross-functional team environment.
What We Offer

The salary offered for this position is £28,000- £40,000 pa plus benefits and bonus to a candidate who can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
