About the Role

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cancer Support Worker to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team and other stakeholders to scope current practices around reasonable adjustments, which will feed into the wider BNSSG Cancer Improved Collaborative projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Hold responsibility for the creation and management of a resource database, relating to supportive organisations. Guiding people through the use of self-management resources
  • Utilise outstanding communication skills and initiative to work across all elements of the cancer pathway
  • Create and manage a patient tracker, identifying those people affected by cancer, that require reasonable adjustments.
  • Support the promotion of the accessible information standard (AIS, 2016) within UHBW, including the new learning module
  • Encourage the operationalisation of the AIS into cancer services, with focus on the education of those involved within the oncology pathway.
