Job Description

As a Government Affairs Advisor, you will be responsible for initiating and developing frequent and high-quality contact with MPs, advisors, ministers, and relevant officials. You will lead on delivery of FSB's party conference activity and political events, brief FSB's member leadership, and work collaboratively with FSB's policy, media, and communication teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and act upon risks, benefits, or opportunities to small businesses within the current political context
  • Develop and implement effective lobbying strategies to achieve policy change
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including MPs, advisors, ministers, and officials
  • Brief FSB's member leadership on key policy issues and developments
  • Work collaboratively with FSB's policy, media, and communication teams on specialist project teams
