Assistant Buyer - Product Development

This role is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Buyer in the product development department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the critical path of our brands' new product development (NPD) process. This includes diarising key meetings, monitoring team delivery against deadlines, and escalating any issues to the Head of Brands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the sample library and ensure that all samples and product components are delivered from suppliers and approved on time.
  • Design and create bespoke and in-house barcoding for key customers.
  • Conduct competitive shopping analysis and provide input into the commercial pricing strategy.
  • Develop seasonal range strategies based on competitor analysis and provide suggestions for new product development and best value for the customer.
  • Provide graphic support to the Brand Manager and assist with packaging briefs as required.
  • Support the Marketing and Social Media Manager with marketing and photoshoots as needed.
  • Deliver selling tools to support our agent network, including the seasonal product catalogue, sales prospecting packs, and salesmen samples.

Requirements:

  • Market and industry knowledge, with a creative and innovative approach to product development.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, with a flair for creativity.
  • Commercially astute with good Excel skills and the ability to prepare data to support product meetings.
  • A passion for products and an entrepreneurial approach, with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues.
