Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Premier Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in West Berkshire. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products and systems, working closely with clients and manufacturing providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new products and systems, from concept to production
  • Collaborate with clients and manufacturing providers to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Conduct FEA, testing, verification, validation, and simulation to ensure product integrity
  • Use CAD software to create technical drawings and 3D models
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure timely and cost-effective production
  • Contribute to the development of project reports and plans
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar Design Engineering position in a manufacturing environment
  • BSc / BEng / HND / HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or similar
  • Excellent analytical skills, with knowledge of hand calculations, FEA, ANSYS, stress analysis, and particle fluid simulation
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials, including plastic injection moulding, sheet metal, and castings
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, such as Inventor, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
