Job Overview

The post holder will work within the Public Health Stream to promote the health and wellbeing of school age children, ensuring they reach their full potential and are not disadvantaged through ill health.

Key responsibilities include undertaking the school health screening and surveillance programme, supporting the delivery of Key Improvement Priorities, and contributing to the wider team to deliver high quality services for families living in the area.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will deliver key areas of the service specification, national Healthy Child Programme, and public health outcomes framework. They will refer to specialist services in accordance with clinical pathways and support children and families to seek support where required.

They will enter data results onto the computer child health system and local systmone.

Working alongside other professionals in the public health pillar, the post holder will deliver key health promotion messages to support the health and wellbeing of children, ensuring every contact counts through the promotion of good health and the prevention of ill health in the community.
