Support Care Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Care Specialist to join our team at 5 Star Recruitment.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of older people and individuals with dementia who require long-term residential care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and general support to clients, including those with special needs arising from physical or mental deterioration
- Engage with clients through social duties such as talking, motivating, and assisting with shopping and group social activities
- Contribute to creating a supportive and homely atmosphere where clients can achieve maximum independence
- Collaborate with domestic staff to best meet the personal needs of clients
- Assist in establishing records, including support plans, where appropriate
- Escort clients outside the establishment as required, e.g. to hospital, opticians, etc.
- Pursue relevant training courses as agreed with management staff
- Act in a general supervisory capacity with students and volunteers
- Participate in laundry duties and care of client's items, including emptying and cleaning commodes, making and changing beds, and cleaning and tidying lockers
- Care for the dying and attend to the needs of the deceased person and their relatives
- Support management with the administration of medication

- Basic life support qualifications (or willingness to train)

Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits, including comprehensive training and development opportunities.
Location:
This role is based in Lancashire, with regular travel to various locations within the area.
