We are seeking an experienced Assistant Head of Department to play a vital role in shaping the curriculum and driving student success in our Multi-Skills & Trowel Trades department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department to enhance the curriculum for Study Programmes, Apprenticeships, and Adult courses.
  • Manage staff and resources within the Multi-Skills & Trowel Trades area across both campuses.
  • Contribute to improving student outcomes by upholding high performance standards, tracking progress, monitoring results, and motivating staff and students.
  • Develop and implement a teaching support cover rota for the Department.
  • Support, develop, and embed a collaborative approach to planning, preparation, and adaptation of resources to ensure all students reach their full potential.
  • Embed English & Maths throughout the curriculum and at the centre of all study programmes.
  • Monitor and act upon poor attendance, punctuality, and behaviour in line with college processes and procedures.
  • Develop industry contacts to ensure currency of curriculum content and provide work experience opportunities.
  • Work closely with the MIS team to ensure flexible study programmes are accurately captured through the college's timetabling systems.
  • Make effective use of Quality Improvement data to drive improvement and achieve tangible results.
Requirements:
