We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Psychology Support Assistant to join our team at a SEND school in Sheffield.

About the Role

As a Child Psychology Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students 1:1 or in small groups, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive in a nurturing environment.

You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide consistent support and monitor progress, helping to adapt tasks to meet individual needs and foster their social, emotional, and educational development.

Your excellent communication skills, active listening skills, and empathy will enable you to build strong, trusting relationships with students from diverse backgrounds, promoting self-esteem and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students 1:1 or in small groups, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive in a nurturing environment.
  • Assist with learning activities and help adapt tasks to meet individual needs.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to foster their social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Help manage behavior positively, using techniques that promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide consistent support and monitor progress.
