AWS Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer to join our Technology, Data and Software Development (TDSD) teams. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the AWS ecosystem and be able to lead and support complex projects.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that is committed to improving the environment and protecting society from the impacts of climate change. As an AWS Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying and managing enterprise cloud environments, as well as administering Windows and Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy and manage enterprise cloud environments using AWS services
  • Administer Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, EKS etc.)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • In-depth configuration management, automation and scripting using tools such as Python
  • Knowledge of platform and application automated deployment technologies like Puppet, Chef etc.
  • Exposure to iterative/agile development methodologies and experience of enabling team delivery through technology

Requirements:

  • Significant commercial experience of designing, deploying and managing enterprise cloud environments
  • Experience administering Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience of containers and container orchestration (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, EKS etc.)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
