Prospero Teaching is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs in the Bournemouth area.
We are looking for an individual with a healthcare background to bring their unique skill set to the classroom. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with a variety of needs, including autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and emotional/behavioral needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in healthcare and possess excellent communication skills. They will work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to students' learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting children with SEN, including autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and emotional/behavioral needs
- Working closely with teachers to implement IEPs and contribute to students' learning
- Providing one-on-one or small group support, ensuring students are fully engaged in lessons
- Assisting with personal care, mobility, and medical needs using your healthcare expertise
- Promoting positive behavior and creating a safe, supportive environment for learning
- Liaising with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent care and progress
The successful candidate will have a healthcare background, preferably with experience in roles such as nursing, care assistance, occupational therapy, or any role that has given them experience with personal care and supporting others. An Enhanced DBS check (ideally on the Update Service) is required, along with two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
