We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our Commercial function at RADIOACTIVE WASTE MANAGEMENT LIMITED.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading mini competitions, direct awards, and supporting the procurement of a variety of goods and services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring commercial activities are conducted in-line with internal processes and assisting in the creation of procurement strategies for new contracts.
  • Preparing tender documentation, including Invitation to Tenders for framework further competitions and below PCR threshold procurements.
  • Participating in and moderating tender evaluation exercises and preparing contract award recommendation reports.
  • Maintaining an awareness of suppliers and services to support the needs of the business and creating suitable records to meet internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Carrying out commercial reporting requirements for internal and external sources.
  • Following business processes that support the Commercial and Contract Management Team as defined in the NWS Management System.
  • Supporting the NDA Collaborative Procurement programme and maintaining effective working relationships with the supply chain.
  • Working as part of a team to provide an efficient procurement and contract management service to the company.

The role is primarily procurement-focused, though there may be elements of contract management, including:

  • Day-to-day management of a portfolio of bronze or transactional contracts.
  • Management of contracts and contractor relationships through the contract lifecycle to ensure delivery of contract obligations to time, quality, and cost.
  • Preparing contract documents and records for configuration control and archiving purposes.

Essential:

  • Experience working in a similar role within a Procurement team.
  • Experience of running end-to-end procurements.
  • Experience of or the ability to demonstrate good understanding of the Public Contract Regulations.
  • Good stakeholder management skills.
  • Good understanding of Contract Management processes.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in the Public Sector and experience of PCR Regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Knowledge of Crown Commercial Services Framework.
  • Hold CIPS Level 4 or be working towards.
