About the Role

As an Urban Planning Expert at Maidstone Borough Council, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the borough's development. We are seeking a seasoned Planner with expertise in enforcement to join our team. With a unique blend of rural and urban areas, Maidstone presents a diverse range of planning challenges.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Local Government Planning or Enforcement, with a proven track record of evaluating enforcement complaints and breaches of planning control. You will be responsible for assessing these issues against policy and other material planning considerations, formulating recommendations, and drafting enforcement notices where necessary.

In addition to enforcement work, you will also process planning applications, advise members of the Planning Committee on their decision-making, and compose the Council's case for court proceedings and appeals.
