Job Overview

Chelsea Hall School is a specialist institution dedicated to providing education for primary-aged students with mild to moderate, and sometimes multiple, learning needs. A primary diagnosis of autism, ADHD, or global developmental delay are just some of the complex profiles you would be working with in this role.

We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Therapist (SaLT) to provide high-quality speech and language therapy to Chelsea Hall students. You will develop and deliver therapy and education programmes based on pupils' individual needs, including preparation, delivery, and evaluation of support programmes; and delivery and assessment of pupil interventions in and outside of school.

You will work closely with caregivers and teaching staff to provide speech and language targets for integration into the curriculum as part of each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP). Regular assessments and progress reports will also be conducted, and participation in appraisals and clinical and management supervision will be required as needed. In addition to your responsibilities as a therapist, you will contribute to and support all aspects of school life, helping with safeguarding both on the school premises and during school outings and other activities.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • HCPC registration
  • Demonstrated pediatric speech and language therapy experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of children with Special Educational Needs/Specific Learning Difficulties (SEN/SpLD), and experience in this environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding children
  • Knowledge of relevant risk management, health & safety, and child protection practices
