Located in RG7 4PR, this position offers a unique opportunity to work on gas storage and delivery systems for nuclear warheads.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design and Test Engineer to join our Gas Transfer Systems (GTS) team at AWE.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction, leadership, and process governance throughout the project lifecycle (PLM).
  • Lead and deliver the production and delivery of technical documents, reports, and presentations including specifications, design reviews, operational documents, and validation evidence for the engineering solutions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Design).
  • Significant experience within a mechanical engineering role (preferably a design position) with good knowledge of mechanical engineering theory and practice.
