We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Director, Laboratory Software to join our team at Illumina.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will lead the Lab Software group and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for Illumina Lab Services (ILS). They will work closely with marketing, sales, finance, R&D, and clinical laboratory groups to gather business and functional requirements and deliver applications that improve and support business processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs and controls the strategic software/informatics roadmap to balance regional, business unit, and corporate goals.
  • Directs the activities of the Lab Software group supporting multiple laboratory information management systems (LIMS and LIS) implementations and web application development.
  • Establishes and maintains software development standards and best practices for clinical diagnostic products within a regulated QMS environment ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Interacts and partners with stakeholders to understand business processes, gather user and QMS requirements, and translate them into software specifications.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 15+ years of experience in software/product development in the life science industry, including 10+ years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing the strategy of and leading the execution of clinical software development.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to tie detailed analysis to larger strategy.
  • Successful experience managing senior-level software development professionals.
Estimated Salary Range

The estimated base salary range for this role is $241,600 - $362,400 per year, based on location and internal equity considerations.
