We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Handle Recruitment. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, managing budgets, and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring accurate financial projections.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement, providing recommendations to senior management.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, credit cards, and petty cash, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Team Management: Supervise and develop a purchase ledger/payroll clerk, ensuring efficient and effective financial processes.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the production management accountant to update financial processes, ensuring a tight internal control environment and best practices.
- Cash Management: Prepare weekly 12-week cash reports, ensuring adequate funds are transferred to the bank account to cover payments.
- Communication: Regularly liaise with departments to ensure receipts, expenses, and petty cash are submitted regularly, maintaining up-to-date financial records.
- Qualifications: Part-qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and studying towards these.
- Experience: Production accounting experience highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong Excel skills, experience with accounting systems (Sage X3 & HMRC payroll), and strong attention to detail.
- Personal Qualities: Dynamic, enthusiastic, self-starter, and willing to go the extra distance to make a difference.
