Job Title: Special Needs Learning Support Assistant
Location: Thanet
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a highly regarded special needs school in Thanet. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one and group support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them with both learning and daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with ASD and SEMH needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.
- Assist with personal care where necessary, ensuring the well-being and dignity of each student.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement individualized education plans (EHCPs) and manage behavior effectively.
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.

Requirements:
- Willingness to travel up to an hour for work.
- The legal right to work in the UK.
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly ASD and SEMH, is preferred.
- Ability to provide personal care, including assistance with toileting and feeding, when required.
- Strong communication skills, patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to undergo relevant background checks and obtain clearances.
- Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS (child workforce) on the update service.
