About the Position:

  • This role offers a fantastic opportunity for Psychology graduates to apply their academic knowledge in a hands-on environment, working directly with children who need extra assistance in their learning journey.
  • As a Special Needs Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers, build their confidence, and support their academic and personal growth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Offer personalised support to primary-aged students with special educational needs, such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or social and emotional challenges.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted strategies tailored to each child's needs.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to deliver effective, child-centred support.
  • Help children develop crucial skills in communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Psychology or a related discipline.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and making a meaningful impact in their lives.
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • A strong desire to gain practical experience in special educational needs (SEN) and child development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and other professionals to create a nurturing and supportive environment.
