Activities and Well-being Lead Role

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Activities and Well-being Lead to join our team at Hampden Hall Care Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of well-being coordinators and ensuring that our residents have the opportunity to take part in person-centred activity plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify residents' activity needs and wishes through discussion, assessment, and observation
  • Create and maintain a varied programme of group activities tailored to our residents' individual needs
  • Organise outings and events based on local holidays, traditions, etc.
  • Manage monthly activity budget for entertainment, materials, and outings
  • Ensure risk assessments have been carried out on all activities and outings
  • Responsible for promoting the home through social media
  • Work closely with the Head Housekeeper and Unit Managers to maintain community spaces
  • Induct and welcome new activities staff to the team
  • Oversee and support all units in the Home to ensure that the activities staff are following the weekly activities programme
  • Attend quarterly activities meetings with activities staff from across the group
  • Maintain a portfolio of evidence showcasing the work of the activities and well-being team

About You:

  • A warm and friendly approach, a caring nature, and a positive attitude
  • An understanding of Health and Safety
  • An understanding of emotional, social, physical, psychological, and intellectual needs of vulnerable people
  • Ability to engage others in recreational activities and deliver the highest standards of social and cultural activities
  • Previous experience in a similar position in a care home is desirable
  • IT literate with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be able to competently manage a social media account
