Surgical Emergency Practitioner Lead

Due to the imminent retirement of the current post holder, we are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Advanced Clinical Practitioner with specialty-specific skills and knowledge to jointly lead and develop our small team of Emergency Surgical Nurse Practitioners and our acute Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Service.

About the Role

In addition to being an active non-medical prescriber and holding a Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the clinical utilization and synthesis of Advanced skills across the 4 pillars of practice enabling safe, independent, clinical decision-making essential for the continuation of our practitioner-led service.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide leadership and direction to the team of Emergency Surgical Nurse Practitioners and SDEC staff.
  • To develop and implement policies and procedures for service development within the surgical CMT that impacts beyond own service area.
  • To work independently and in partnership with others to develop and implement policies for service development within the surgical CMT which impacts beyond own service area.
Requirements
  • Registered Health Professional.
  • MSc or equivalent in Autonomous Healthcare.
  • Non-medical prescribing.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
