Head Chef Opportunity at South Coast Nursing Homes

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to join our team at South Coast Nursing Homes. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding quality home-cooked, nutritious food dishes at our state-of-the-art kitchen that services The Poets and Berkeley Lodge in Worthing.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy catering environment, where you will be responsible for implementing the standards set by our Executive Chef, driving the food offering forward, and delivering new dishes that inspire and delight our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing the standards set by the Executive Chef and driving the food offering forward
  • Delivering new dishes that inspire and delight our residents
  • Planning and buying ingredients in a sensible and cost-effective manner
  • Conducting monthly kitchen audits to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Training the kitchen team in the correct use and maintenance of equipment
  • Meeting with chefs and kitchen assistants to engage them in the required standards and overall vision
  • Reporting major issues and solutions to the Executive Chef as necessary
Requirements
  • Level 2 Chef (Professional Cooking) qualification or higher
  • Experience working in a busy catering environment
  • Food Hygiene Level 2/3 qualification or higher
  • A passion for food and delivering high-quality dishes
