Job Title: Lead Oncology Registered Veterinary Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Oncology Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Cinque Ports Vets. As a key member of our oncology department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of veterinary nurses in the delivery of high-quality nursing services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the oncology team, ensuring the delivery of outstanding patient care and adherence to clinical standards.
  • Develop and implement chemotherapy safety protocols and policies in collaboration with our oncology clinicians.
  • Train and support team members in the safe handling and administration of cytotoxic medications and other nursing procedures.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the oncology, internal medicine, and cardiology teams to achieve seamless patient care.
  • Participate in team reflections and incident reporting to continually improve patient care and safety.
  • Support the implementation of cat-friendly and dog-friendly standards across the hospital.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of nursing policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification and experience in oncology nursing.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of oncology nursing practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
