About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our nursing team at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will work under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care and support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake delegated personal care duties for patients/clients, ensuring their dignity and well-being are maintained at all times.
  • Provide support for the Registered Nursing staff in maintaining a stable and safe clinical environment, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Assist with clinical procedures, including ECG, cannulation, vena-puncture, wound care, and personal care, demonstrating a basic understanding of Anatomy & Physiology.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently, using our electronic patient record system.
  • Supervise less experienced staff, providing guidance and support as needed.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and evidence of mandatory training and other relevant study days.
  • Physical skills obtained through practice and the ability to prioritize, plan, and act on own initiative in delivering patient/client care.
  • Ability to supervise less experienced staff and demonstrate a caring disposition.
