We are seeking a reliable and caring Personal Assistant to support a teenage girl with Asperger's in Rawdon, Leeds.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for accompanying the individual on days out, to activities in the community, and to social events. They will also be required to suggest activities that the individual would enjoy and be mindful of her safety at all times.

Main Responsibilities
  • Accompany the individual on days out and to activities in the community
  • Suggest activities that the individual would enjoy
  • Be mindful of the individual's safety at all times
  • Supervise the individual and do not allow her to be alone, even if at a distance
  • Use strategies to distract and encourage the individual when she is feeling less confident
  • Set clear boundaries and expectations of behaviour while she is with you
  • Encourage appropriate social interactions with peers and adults
Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a driver with their own car and have experience working with individuals with Asperger's. They will also be required to have a caring and reassuring approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Hours

The role will require 4 hours per week during term time and 6 hours during school holidays (evenings after school and possible weekends). The pay rate is £12.40 per hour at all times.
