H9 Technical Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Integration Specialist to join our team in London. As a key member of our renewable energy client's project team, you will play a critical role in the integration of renewable energy projects into national and regional power grids.

Role and Responsibilities
  1. Grid Connection Studies: Assist in performing grid impact studies, feasibility assessments, and power flow analysis to determine the technical and economic viability of renewable energy projects connecting to the grid.
  2. Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure grid connection designs meet local and national regulations, grid codes, and technical standards.
  3. Connection Design Support: Assist in designing grid connections, including preparing technical drawings, specifications, and layouts for substations, switchgear, and associated infrastructure.
  4. Data Analysis: Analyze grid performance data, perform simulations, and support the evaluation of technical challenges in grid integration.
  5. Coordination with Stakeholders: Liaise with grid operators, regulatory bodies, and project developers to ensure the alignment of project timelines with grid connection requirements.
  6. Documentation: Support the preparation and submission of grid connection applications, contracts, and associated documentation.
  7. Project Support: Assist in the management of grid connection aspects of renewable energy projects from planning through to implementation, including cost estimation and scheduling.
  8. Technical Reporting: Prepare technical reports, summaries, and recommendations on grid connection issues for senior engineers and project managers.
  9. Site Visits: Participate in site visits to evaluate grid connection infrastructure, assess risks, and provide support during installation and commissioning phases.
Education and Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
  2. Relevant certifications in grid connection, power systems, or renewable energy integration are a plus.
  3. 1-2 years of experience in power systems, grid integration, or a related field (internships or project-based experience in renewable energy grid connection is an advantage).
  4. Strong understanding of electrical power systems, grid codes, and energy distribution networks.
  5. Familiarity with renewable energy technologies such as wind, solar, and energy storage.
  6. Knowledge of grid connection software tools such as PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or similar.
  7. Proficiency in technical drawing software (AutoCAD, etc.) is a plus.
  8. Analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and generate insights.
  9. Exposure to regulatory frameworks and policies governing renewable energy grid connection.
  10. Knowledge of energy markets and grid interconnection challenges specific to renewable energy.
  11. Familiarity with high-voltage equipment, substation design, and grid protection systems.
  12. Hands-on experience in grid connection projects, especially for renewable energy installations.
The estimated salary for this position is £35,000 - £50,000 per annum.
