The Depositary Fund Oversight role is a critical position within our UK Depositary team, responsible for ensuring the ongoing oversight of Alternative Fund Managers (AFMs) and their funds. This includes risk management, compliance monitoring, and due diligence to ensure the highest standards of governance and integrity.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of fund products, operating structures, and investment strategies, as well as knowledge of FCA regulations and Depositary responsibilities. Previous experience in risk management or compliance is preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing monitoring of regulatory and fund-specific requirements for AFMs, ensuring effective compliance monitoring and compliance monitoring plans.
  • Qualitative asset eligibility assessments, including equities, bonds, structured products, derivatives, and corporate events.
  • Liquidity monitoring, derivative exposure, and fair value pricing analysis.
  • Assistance with Depositary risk management framework developments for industry topics, such as ESG and SDR.
  • Fund Oversight review of scheme launch and change events.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including offshore locations, AFM equivalents, senior managers, and key contacts.
  • Supporting Depositary due diligence visits and producing associated reports.
  • Maintaining KPIs, developing and presenting MI on an ongoing basis.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Depositary duties and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of fund products and operating structures, investment strategies, and asset classes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of FCA regulations for Funds and Depositary responsibilities.
  • Previous relevant risk management or compliance experience preferred but not essential.
  • Efficient in MS Office tools.
  • Effective communication and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal and time management skills.
