Senior Staff Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Staff Nurse to join our Endoscopy team at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered to patients in accordance with the NMC code of conduct.
- Take responsibility for the management and development of a team of employees under the supervision of the Charge Nurse.
- Clinical Practice
- Coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-led care to patients.
- Exercise clinical judgment and decision-making about patient needs in accordance with locally agreed protocols and individualized care plans.
- Quality and Safety
- Participate in Trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators.
- Assist with any local or trust initiatives to ensure the continuous improvement of the quality of services and safeguarding of high standards of care.
- Qualifications
- Unrestricted NMC Registration to practice.
- Clinical supervision training/experience.
- Postgraduate level at the relevant specialty/continuing professional education.
- Experience
- Highly proficient in all aspects of endoscopy practice (pre-assessment, procedure room, admissions, and recovery).
- Experience in conducting clinical audits.
- Experience in facilitation, teaching, assessing, and coaching of endoscopy team members/students.
- Skills
- Competent in giving IV medication.
- Competent in venepuncture and cannulation.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
