Trade Counter Manager

Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (42.5 hours per week)
- Saturday: 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Starting Salary: £27,500 per annum
Reporting to: Area Sales Manager
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Trade Counter Manager to lead and grow our Cramlington branch. The ideal candidate will have strong management experience, preferably within the building trade, and the ability to create a positive, sales-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all branch operations to ensure both financial and non-financial targets are met.
- Implement company strategies for business growth and development in the local market.
- Coach and support staff to enhance their performance and ensure excellent customer service.
- Lead sales efforts to attract new customers and retain existing ones, driving profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with trade and retail customers.
- Promote the company's brand locally to grow market awareness.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to meet customer demand.
- Prepare financial reports on sales performance, gross profits, and operational costs.
- Proven experience managing a builders' merchant or similar business.
- Knowledge of building materials and associated products, particularly plastic building products and windows.
- Experience implementing sales strategies to grow revenue and improve profitability.
- The ability to work with a wide range of customers, including trade professionals, retail customers, and contractors.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with both customers and suppliers.
- Experience in recruiting, training, and developing team members.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar systems (preferred, but training can be provided).
