Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Infection Prevention and Control Service, working closely with the Associate Chief Nurse for Infection Prevention. Key duties include:
- Developing and implementing strategies to reduce the risk of infection to patients, staff, and visitors
- Managing the Infection Prevention and Control Nurses on a day-to-day basis
- Providing advice on safe patient care to clinical staff
- Participating in an on-call rota and deputising for the Associate Chief Nurse for Infection Prevention & Control

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse (adult) on the NMC register
- A post-registration qualification in infection prevention and control
- A Master's degree in a health-related subject
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
Additionally, the successful candidate will have:
- Highly developed specialist IPC knowledge
- Experience of working in an Infection Prevention and Control Team
- Participated in service development and implementation of change
- Experience of teaching and assessing in the clinical area and classroom setting
