About the Role

We are seeking a talented Assistant Picture Editor to join our London bureau at dmg::media. As a key member of our Pictures team, you will be responsible for creating engaging graphics, editing picture content, and coordinating picture coverage in a fast-paced 24-hour digital news environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement creative graphics and picture content strategies to enhance our online presence
  • Collaborate with our editorial team to source and edit high-quality picture content
  • Manage agency relationships and negotiate exclusives to secure premium content
  • Utilize Photoshop and other picture management systems to deliver exceptional results
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our visual content
Requirements
  • 2-3 years' experience in creating graphics and editing picture content for a newspaper or online news operation
  • Ability to work under pressure with stringent deadlines and a focus on quality
  • Strong technical knowledge of picture management and web publishing systems
  • Background in news and showbusiness picture content is desirable
  • Understanding of legal covenants such as the UK Editors' Code of Practice and media law is desirable
