We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Picture Editor to join our Online Picture Desk at dmg::media. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading during night and weekend shifts, identifying stories relevant for Metro across all sections of the site, and creating compelling visual content to engage our audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fulfill picture requests from the News Desk and other sections of the site, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Liaise with the Picture Editor to coordinate daily picture queues, source additional photographic material, and communicate with reporters to ensure the best images are used to illustrate and sell the story.
  • Create composite previews using two or more images for use on the home page and social media, utilizing Photoshop skills to enhance visual appeal.
  • Develop graphics to illustrate stories, leveraging creativity and technical expertise to engage our audience.
  • Collaborate with the team to assign the best person for each request, ensuring seamless communication and efficient workflow.

This role requires flexibility regarding shifts, including weekends and nights, to meet the demands of our 24/7 operation.
