As the Assistant Accountant, you will support the finance team in managing payments and cashbooks, maintaining records, processing expenses, and assisting with audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to the Finance and Reporting teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Prepare weekly BACS runs and bank payments, coordinating with colleagues for timely execution.
  • Manage the cashbook, ensuring accurate financial reporting and record-keeping.
  • Handle supplier setup and maintenance within the Finance system, keeping all information up-to-date.
  • Maintain the company's accounting and control systems, ensuring compliance with financial standards.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Process employee expenses with accurate VAT calculations, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare ad hoc sales invoices and cover customs clearance procedures as needed, supporting various financial tasks.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, AAT qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
