About the Job
We are seeking a skilled MET Technician to join our team at Steer Automotive Group. As an MET Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers' vehicles are repaired to the highest standards.
You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and replacing mechanical, electrical, and trim components of various vehicle makes and models, including electric and hybrid vehicles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out all necessary mechanical and body work on allocated jobs.
- Dismantling vehicles ready for the panel shop.
- Carrying out inspections, fault-finding, and diagnostic work.
- Ordering replacement parts.
- Re-assembling the vehicle with new parts as required to pre-accident condition.
- Ensuring all work meets the company's quality standards and complies with safety regulations.
- Communicating effectively with the wider team regarding the status of repairs.
About You
We are looking for an experienced MET Technician with significant experience working on a range of vehicle types, including electric and hybrid vehicles. You will have high attention to detail and the ability to work skilfully and safely under pressure.
Key requirements include:
- Significant experience working as an MET, working on a range of vehicle types including electric and hybrid.
- Ability to plan your workload efficiently and effectively so that vehicles are ready to agreed timescales.
- Completing work in line with manufacturers specifications.
- Ability to work as part of the team, as well as on your own initiative with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility in your approach, always working to high standards and with customer satisfaction in mind.
- Following Health & Safety guidelines at all times, including ensuring a clean and tidy work area and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Experience and training in electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as holding ATA/NVQ qualifications in automotive repair.
