Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Paediatric Consultant to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children with neurodevelopmental difficulties, including ADHD, ASD, and learning disabilities. They will work closely with colleagues in community services, North West Boroughs NHS Healthcare Foundation Trust, education, and social care to ensure seamless care coordination.

The appointee will see patients in various outpatient settings, including Thomas Linacre, Leigh Infirmary, Platt Bridge, and special schools. They will also participate in visiting clinics in cardiology, rheumatology, neurology, nephrology, and urology by specialists from tertiary children's hospitals in the region.

Requirements
  • MB ChB or equivalent
  • MRCPCH or equivalent
  • CCT in Paediatrics (or within 6 months of obtaining from interview time)
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Evidence of L3 competencies in Community Child Health

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of general professional training in Paediatrics and 2 years of Higher Specialist Training in Community Paediatrics. They will also have Safeguarding Level 3 training and experience in safeguarding.

They will be able to travel between sites to meet the requirements of the post and have satisfactory medical clearance from Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Trusts Occupational Health Physician.
