Role: Portfolio Delivery Lead
Location: City of London (2 days per week)
Our client, a leading company in the industry, is seeking a skilled Portfolio Delivery Lead to oversee the planning and prioritization of customer change and transformation business outcomes. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, hands-on leader with experience in solving business problems, driving transformation, and delivering customer-focused solutions.
The successful candidate will be adept at aligning business needs with delivery capabilities, particularly in agile, cross-functional environments. They will have a strong operational focus on improving delivery performance and efficiency while adhering to standards set by the Change Management Office and aligning with enterprise governance frameworks.
A key aspect of the role involves working closely with the CMO to improve the maturity of change delivery across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage portfolios of projects/initiatives and large-scale programmes to solve business problems by aligning initiatives with customer strategies
- Deep understanding of agile, waterfall methodologies, and lean portfolio management
- Expertise in improving the performance, efficiency, and maturity of delivery across multiple teams and initiatives
- Balance operational delivery with strategic objectives
- Lead teams of Project Managers and Business Analysts, fostering a problem-solving culture
- Embed a culture that enhances delivery performance
- Establish programme/project governance and risk management
- Work with governance boards to align portfolios, secure resources, and improve delivery efficiency
- Manage customer-facing transformation portfolios, translating customer and business needs into actionable solutions for agile teams
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, influencing senior leadership and aligning agile teams with customer roadmaps
- Effective communication to ensure teams understand project goals and business challenges
- Previous experience of overseeing a portfolio, not just managing multiple programmes/projects
- Experience in quarterly planning and roadmaps, planning & dependency management at portfolio level
- Facilitate prioritisation and scheduling resources and projects/change
- Key role in strengthening change delivery capability (waterfall and agile) - delivery of outcomes and metrics for improvement
