The Opportunity

Newcastle College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced educator to join our Construction Building Services department as a Lecturer in Advanced Technical Lecturer – Electrical.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality learning programmes in Electrical Installations or Electrotechnical across various levels of further education and/or apprenticeship provision.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Electrical and the Built Environment, with a proven track record of professional/vocational expertise in the Built Environment with an Electrical installation Domestic Commercial or electrotechnical bias.

The candidate must be suitably qualified to the industry-and recognised standard in relevant built environment electrical qualifications at L3 minimum, AM2, and electrical inspection are also required for this role.

The successful candidate will also hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines, alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are essential.

The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
